Moss, born on 13th February 1977, is an ex-American footballer. He was a player
in the National Football League (NFL) for 14 seasons , including the Minnesota
Vikings, Oakland Raiders, New England Patriots, Tennessee Titans, and the San
Francisco 49ers. Moss is widely considered to be Jerry Rice's best wide
receiver. He holds the NFL single season record for touchdown receptions of 23
in 2007. the NFL rookie single-season touchdown reception records (17 in 1998)
and is the second player on the NFL's all-time regular season touchdown
reception list with 156. Moss was well-known for his skill at securing his
contested catch "mossed" is now a football term. Following football,
he began working for ESPN as a studio analyst for its Sunday NFL Countdown and
Monday Night Countdown programs. Moss was born in Rand, West Virginia. He was a
student at DuPont High School, one of two schools which later amalgamated into
Riverside High School, where he excelled in football, basketball as well as
baseball and track. Randy was also a member of the school's debate team. Moss
was a DuPont Panthers' football player who helped them win back-to-back state
championshipsin 1992 and 1993. His most prominent position was wide receiver. But
he also played free safety as well as punted kickoffs. He also was the team’s
punter and kicker. He was awarded the Kennedy Award for West Virginia Football
Player's of the Year in the year 1994. Parade magazine named him to their
annual All-American high school football team in 1995. in 2009, he was named
among the top 50 football players from high school of all time.
